Marlene Evans is a research scientist with Environment and Climate Change Canada who has been working in the NWT since the early 1990s and Nunavut since 2004 with her studies focussing on contaminants in fish and lake ecosystems; much of her research has been supported by the Northern Containment Program with mercury of particular interest.
Under Northern Contaminant Program (NCP) and FROST she will synthesize her long-term collaborative studies of mercury in sea run char and fish in Cambridge Bay lakes while working towards improved capacity building including community co-leadership in a long-term monitoring program for Greiner and possibly nearby lakes. She also will work towards advanced education opportunities.
