Principal Investigator · FROST
Associate Professor · Université Laval (CA)
Raoul-Marie is mainly involved in the Module 3 · Traditional Ecological Knowledge and work to develop Bayesian Belief Networks (BBN) to assess the major impacts of changing winter on lake food webs and their provided services to local communities.
In brief
Raoul-Marie is a full professor in the Department of Chemistry at Université Laval, Québec, Canada. His research explores how aquatic environments respond to environmental change, including the cycles of essential elements and the chemistry of contaminants and micronutrients. Working closely with local communities, his team samples lakes, rivers, glaciers, soils, and sediments across northern landscapes. Using a multidisciplinary approach, they combine fieldwork, laboratory experiments, and numerical modeling to understand key processes controlling element mobility from the molecular to the ecosystem scale.
